Gmail stopped fetching your other email? What to do now
Gmailify and “Check mail from other accounts” are going away. Here's what changes and how to keep reading your Yahoo, Outlook or work email in one place.
What changed
For years, Gmail on the web could collect mail from your other addresses: Check mail from other accounts (using POP) copied it into Gmail, and Gmailify added Gmail's spam filter and tabs to a linked Yahoo or Outlook address. In 2026 Google is removing both from Gmail on the web.
- Email that was already copied into Gmail stays in Gmail.
- New email sent to your other address is no longer collected into Gmail. It's still delivered to that address; you just don't see it in Gmail.
- Your other account itself is fine. Nothing is deleted there.
Are you affected?
- Open Gmail on a computer and click the gear ⚙ → See all settings.
- Open the Accounts and Import tab.
- Look at Check mail from other accounts. If an address is listed there, its new mail is no longer (or soon no longer) collected into Gmail.
Your options
| Option | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Forward mail from the other account to Gmail | One address you rarely reply from | Not every provider allows it for free (Yahoo, for example, only with a paid plan). Replies come from Gmail unless you also set up “Send mail as”. |
| Add the account to the Gmail phone app | Reading on your phone | Each account is a separate inbox in the app, and it doesn't help on a computer. |
| Use an email app that shows several accounts (for example Kaliham, Thunderbird, Outlook or Spark) | Seeing everything together, on computer and phone | You connect each account once. Your mail stays with each provider. |
Use Kaliham: all your accounts in one inbox (free)
Kaliham is a free unified inbox that runs in your browser and installs on iPhone and Android without an app store. It shows Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud and work email together, and replies go out from the right address. It doesn't copy your email into another account: each mailbox stays where it is, so Gmail, Yahoo and your other apps keep working as before.
- Create a free Kaliham account.
- Click Add email account and type your Gmail address. Kaliham shows the quickest way to connect it.
- Do the same for the address Gmail used to collect: Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud or your work email. Outlook and Hotmail connect with one click (Sign in with Microsoft); Yahoo, iCloud and Gmail use an app password.
- Done: everything arrives in one inbox, each account in its own colour. You can also pick one account at a time.
Questions
Will I lose the email Gmail already collected?
No. Mail already copied into Gmail stays there. Only new mail stops being collected.
Does Kaliham move or copy my email?
No. Kaliham shows each mailbox from its own provider and doesn't keep copies of your email. See the privacy policy.
Can I still send from my Yahoo or work address?
Yes. In Kaliham, replies go out from the address the email was sent to, through that provider, with that mailbox's own signature.
Is it really free?
Yes, creating an account and adding your email accounts is free, without ads.
