How to read Yahoo and Gmail in one inbox
Stop switching between apps and tabs. Here's how to see Yahoo Mail and Gmail together, on your computer and your phone.
The quick way: a unified inbox
A unified inbox is an email app that connects to several accounts and shows all their mail in one list. Kaliham is a free one that runs in your browser, so it works on any computer, and installs on iPhone and Android from the website. It also works with Outlook, Hotmail, iCloud and work email.
1. Create your Kaliham account
Go to kaliham.app and create a free account with your name and email.
2. Add your Gmail
- Click Add email account and type your Gmail address.
- Gmail connects with an app password, a special password just for Kaliham that you can cancel any time. Kaliham shows you where to create it; the full steps are in How to create a Gmail app password.
- Paste the app password into Kaliham and click Connect.
3. Add your Yahoo Mail
- Click Add email account again and type your Yahoo address.
- Yahoo also uses an app password: How to create a Yahoo app password.
- Paste it into Kaliham and click Connect.
4. Read everything together
- Inbox shows Gmail and Yahoo mail together, newest first, each account in its own colour.
- Click an account in the menu to see only that one.
- Replies go out from the address the email was sent to: reply to a Yahoo email and it's sent from Yahoo.
- On your phone, open kaliham.app and choose Install app on your phone to add it to your home screen.
Other ways, and their limits
| Way | Limit |
|---|---|
| Gmail's “Check mail from other accounts” or Gmailify | Being removed from Gmail on the web in 2026 (what to do instead). |
| Forwarding Yahoo to Gmail | Yahoo only offers automatic forwarding with a paid plan, and replies come from Gmail unless you set up “Send mail as”. |
| Adding Yahoo to the Gmail phone app | Only on the phone, and each account is a separate inbox. |
| Desktop email programs (Thunderbird, Outlook) | Work well on that one computer; you set them up again on every device. |
Questions
Is my email copied somewhere else?
No. Kaliham shows each mailbox from Gmail and Yahoo directly and doesn't keep copies. Your mail keeps working in the Gmail and Yahoo apps as before.
Why an app password and not my normal password?
Gmail and Yahoo don't let other email apps use your normal password. An app password only works for email, can be cancelled any time, and keeps your real password private.
Can I add more accounts later?
Yes, up to 20 mailboxes: Outlook, Hotmail, iCloud, work or custom-domain email too.
